This Spring's Hydrangeas

Though it was very cold here yesterday, I am beginning to see pots of hydrangeas ready for sale. Also, the Gold Finches are getting brighter in color and some plants are budding with their flowers.  Perhaps, that means that spring will be here soon?

Rainy Day Bouquet

Again, this painting was imagined after seeing an arrangement in a magazine.  The day was rainy and stormy so what better than to paint but some bright and colorful flowers.  Thanks for looking.

Two Peaches, Two Hydrangeas

Time in  the studio has been scarce lately. Time will remain at a premium as Hubby recovers from his surgery.  Also, I've been working on some larger pieces.  Thanks for your patience.

Egg Plants and Lemons

Combining eggplants with lemons is probably an odd combination but I wanted to do a painting with a split complimentary color scheme.  It was great fun to paint it and it was so good to be in the studio again. My time in the studio will be intermittent as Hubby will be having surgery but I will grab what ever time I can find.

Thanks for looking.

Irises on a Yellow Stool

I love irises and I have several varieties planted in my yard.  Hopefully, my bearded ones do well this summer. I should be having lots of challenging exercise as I attempt to portray them.  Thanks for looking.

Roses

I had completed this painting last week but wasn't pleased with it.  Finally, I decided the flowers didn't have enough space around them so I did a repaint over it without wiping it out entirely.  Almost everyone I know is so ready for winter to be over, me included, so perhaps these flowers will help rid you of the winter blahs.

Strawberry Trio #2

This is a second version of this morning's still life set-up but this time I went larger as I hoped to be more expressive with my brush work, etc.  I think I succeeded but still want to be even more expressive.  There's always tomorrow and the next painting.

Here's the first version.  It is 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches painted on a black canvas panel.  It's not for sale as I'm using it for an experimental project of mine.
Thanks for looking.

Reflections of Yellow and White on Gray

I found it amazing how much the reflected white background altered the dark gray that the glass and lemon were placed on. The painting is on canvas on mdf board. Its a 10x8.

A Green Plate and Pears

This is one of my nearly daily paintings that are
done as a development tool.  I like the spontaneity I get
when I keep these as quick studies and don't overwork the piece.

This 6 x 9 inch acrylic on watercolor paper is matted and
ready for framing in a 12 x 9 frame for $40.00 plus S & H.
