A Pear with Clementines

An original 5 x 7  inch, expressive, colorist, still life painting done in a contemporary style with professional grade acrylic paint . It is painted on linen on a hardboard panel. As an under painting, the surface was textured with the remaining acrylic paints left from a previous day's painting session.  Some of the colors may show through adding more interest.  It has been finished with a satin acrylic varnish.

Red and Yellow Flowers

I find bouquets of flowers in some strange places.  This one was in a ladies restroom and thanks to my cell phone I have a always have a camera ready.  Naturally, I imaginatively changed it a lot.  It was fun to be in the studio and to be able to play in the paints.

This painting is from a photo taken over a decade ago of some gardenias from our yard.  Still trying to loosen up and this painting is getting there.  Thanks for looking.

Four Sunflowers

This painting was taken from a photo I took of some sunflowers I grew over a decade ago. The canvas was prepared with an application of paint left on the palette at the end of a previous session thereby giving a lot of texture to the painting.

Hardy Mums

These mums were from potted ones that I planted last year.   Pots of mums are available everywhere for purchase in the fall.  I made sure they were the hardy variety and now the plants are huge and full of blooms.  Wonder what color should I choose for this fall?

Acrylic on a 7x5 inch linen on hardboard panel.  Varnished for additional enhancement and protection.

Mason Jar Flowers

This painting came about in two ways.  The flowers in a mason jar, table top and background came from a photo that I took while eating at a very nice cafĂ© called Ike and Jane's.  I felt it needed something to balance it to the left and my imagination added the plate and apple.

This painting has been varnished for additional enhancement and protection.

Life intervened but I'm back in the studio still working on pushing my efforts to be more expressive.
