Just Keep Swimming

I wasn't sure what would develop from all the preliminary marks that I made in the early layers but out popped this fish who just keeps swimming just like I have to just keep painting.

Blond Beauty

It was good to be back in the studio today after a way too long a period of time. 

I named this palomino pony Blond Beauty; to me her eyes are so kind.  Thanks for looking.

Jack the Jack Russell

When going through some old photos, I found this one among several of him and his roommate, a Dachshund.  Years ago I did a pastel portrait of the two of them.  Unfortunately, I don't have their names but I am going to call him Jack.  You may see his buddy later.  Thanks for looking. 

As an under painting, the surface was textured with the remaining acrylic paints left from a previous day's painting session.  Some of the colors may show through adding more interest.  It has been finished with a satin acrylic varnish.
