Oh, it was so good to be back in the studio finally! I just wanted to play so what better way than to paint some expressive flowers. I hope to be where I belong, in the studio, on a much more regular basis now that my hubby has recovered from yet another surgery and the holiday madness is pretty much over.
I am working still on getting even more free with the brush strokes and building layers and textures. It's great to play in the paint.
Thanks for looking.

A Few Grapes and Flowers
A simple painting following an absence from the studio.
This absence was caused by my husband suddenly being taken ill with an infected gall bladder, surgery and problems afterwards. He's on the mend and I hope to be in the studio on a more consistent basis.
Also, I have been realizing the need to clear out year's of accumulated supplies, etc. that aren't being used so that the studio can be a more enjoyable space. A great deal of progress is being made with more to be done but I feel I am in the home stretch.
As always, thanks for looking.

Lemons on Pink
It's been a while since my last post; lately I have again been going through a slump-nothing I've done has pleased me. This little one I did at the today finally had the element of fun and spontaneity that I want.
An original, 7 x 5 inch, expressive, colorist, still life painting done in a contemporary style with professional grade acrylic paint . As an under painting, the surface was textured with the remaining acrylic paints left from a previous day's painting session. Some of the colors may show through adding more interest. This particular painting was done on 300 lb. watercolor paper. It has been finished with a satin acrylic varnish.
This painting is being sold with or without a matt. The cost for matt and backing, ready for framing is $40; without a matt, the cost is $25. Let me know what your preference is via email.

Two Pears and Clementines
There's plenty of clementine on hand right now so they got to be my models along with a couple of pears.

Hydrangias and Daisies
I thought that this combination of flowers would be interesting and fun to paint and it was.
As with all my paintings, a final coat of semi-gloss acrylic varnish is
applied to give further enhancement and protection.
